Toy Drive January 24-28
Dear Parents,
We hope your holiday festivities were bright and meaningful and that 2022 has gotten off to a strong start. Although this past year presented us with many challenges, I think we can all agree that we are blessed to have this community.
In the past, Gillispie has delivered donations to an orphanage in Tijuana, Casa Hogar NiΓ±os Con VisiΓ³n, that serves children from infancy through young adulthood.Β With Valentineβs Day just a few weeks away, now is the perfect time to continue this tradition of showing compassion.
This is a completely voluntary activity and one we hope you might do as a family.
- Please have your child (or children) bring in ONE unwrapped item to schoolΒ on January 24-28.
- This can be a (new or gently used) toy, game, puzzle, book (in Spanish), or item of clothing (all sizes welcome). Please donβt send food.
- Students are encouraged to attach letters, pictures, and/or homemade cards.
- Most importantly, have a conversation with your child(ren) in the selection of the item and talk about why this could make someone elseΒ happy and the overall importance of making a difference.
There will be large bins outsideΒ on both Fay and Girard Monday β Friday, January 24-28 at drop-off and pick-up. We will ask the children to drop their items in these bins on their way into school.
Thank you all very much for considering getting involved in this activity!
