Gillispie Students are exposed to a variety of global cultures.
We believe that our interconnected world demands that we prepare students to be global citizens with an appreciation for the richness offered by diversity. The Gillispie community promotes and reflects a diversity of age, culture, ethnicity, family structure, gender and gender identity, group affiliation, national origin, physical and mental ability, race, religion, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status.
We foster an environment that encourages the safe and open discussion of diversity so that children are aware of the world around them. Through professional development, our teachers are prepared to appropriately build a culture of inclusivness. Our students are exposed to a wide variety of global cultures through assemblies, visiting speakers, International Day events, literature study, and classroom activities and projects that occur within the social studies, foreign language, and arts curricula.
