We’re crushing on Willow’s Love art, on display at the Fay Avenue entrance! Our Pre-K friends in Willow have been exploring what love means and how we show it through kindness, compassion, and caring actions.
To guide their conversations, they read I Am Love: A Book of Compassion by Susan Verde and In My Heart by Jo Witek. These stories inspired thoughtful discussions about feelings, caring for others, and showing love in everyday ways.
The children then created heartfelt art projects. Each child drew a large heart, filled it with expressive lines, and traced over them with black glue, an exciting challenge that required focus, patience, and fine motor control. Once the glue dried, they used watercolors to paint between the raised lines, bringing their unique hearts to life. The results are absolutely lovely!
During their Reflection Meeting, children were asked, “What makes you feel loved?” Their sweet responses included: family, Mom, Dad, painting, home, cats, dogs, hugs, love, and more.
Our Pre-K class is learning that love can be found in simple moments at home and love is something we can share every day.
We invite you to stop by the Fay Avenue display case and enjoy their beautiful creations!
