Grade 6 students welcomed a special visitor this week: Officer Chad Crenshaw, better known around San Diego as the “Skater Cop”.
Officer Chad shared stories about his work with the San Diego Police Department and how he serves and connects with the community. He’s known for hopping on a board and giving away SDPD skateboard decks, using a shared love of skating to build camaraderie and bring people together.
His visit aligned with Grade 6 discussions about leadership and service. When asked why he became a police officer, he shared that although he majored in archaeology, his desire to help others and lead a life of service ultimately drew him to law enforcement.
Of course, no police officer visit would be complete without a closer look at the patrol car! Students explored the vehicle, heard the siren, and had an especially good time seeing if they could all squeeze into the back seat at once!
