Gillispie’s ICARE Club Inspires Kindness Across Campus

Gillispie School ICARE Club

The ICARE Club is made up of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students who share a passion for Gillispie’s ICARE Values: Integrity, Compassion, Attitude, Respect, and Effort. This dedicated group of 18 students joined at the beginning of the school year because they care about our school values and about spreading kindness throughout our community.

Posters are now up and around campus reminding everyone of our values and on Thursdays, ICARE Club members lead kindness-focused activities during recess, inviting all students to participate.

Last week, the ICARE Club encouraged students to reflect on ICARE Resolutions, choosing which ICARE Value they wanted to focus for the year and why. The response was great, with 45 students and teachers participating. Here are a few of the resolutions students shared:

"My ICARE resolution is about attitude because when I get a lot of homework [I won't] complain and just get to it."

"My ICARE resolution is about compassion because I want to look out for others and help them if they need it."

"My ICARE resolution is about integrity because I want my friends and teachers to trust me."
