Updated Travel Guidelines

You may have seen that the State updated travel guidance on April 2 as it pertains to COVID-19 and quarantining after travel. While they continue to urge anyone not vaccinated to refrain from any unnecessary/recreational travel, they have removed the 120-mile distance as a threshold for the need to quarantine. Gillispie will continue to follow State guidance and will therefore require a 7-day quarantine for those not fully vaccinated if they are returning to San Diego from travel that took them outside the state or country. Testing should be done on Days 3-5 after returning home to San Diego. If the test is negative and there are no symptoms, the student may return to campus after a full 7-day quarantine. Note that the minimum quarantine period is 7 days even with a negative test. If testing is not done, the student may return to campus after a 10-day quarantine. Please keep in mind that the day you return home from travel is Day 0.
