2020 Gillispie Gala

Each year, a group of hardworking volunteers puts together the annual Gillispie Gala, which is instrumental in funding all the elements of an exceptional Gillispie education: our teachers, our facilities, and our financial aid fund.

About The Annual Gillispie Gala

Each year, Gillispie School community comes together to host the party of the year!

The venue varies but the purpose never does: the gala raises essential funds to:

• maintain the financial aid fund to welcome students of all socioeconomic backgrounds

• preserve a safe and “green” campus;

• maintain our library, art, technology, science, and classroom supplies.

The Gala is held in March, with the venue, Chair, and date announced at the beginning of the school year.


The Gala is in the works long before the school year begins, and the committee works diligently to bring the fun year-round.

In November, we invite members of our community to the Gala Wine Party, where attendees bring a bottle of their finest 95 point wine for the Gala Wine Raffle and enjoy socializing with other families.

In the weeks leading up to the Gala:

• A keepsake photo of each child’s year at Gillispie is available for purchase in the lobby;

• There will be an art gallery on display where you can preview the stunning art pieces created by each class or grade level, which are then auctioned live at the event;

• An online auction filled with unique items and experiences goes live and bidding commences!

• At the Gala event in March, your ticket will gain you entry to an exciting venue for dancing, dinner, drinks, and a thrilling live auction.

UNDERWRITE AN EXPENSE. Make every dollar raised truly count by underwriting an event expense. These donations are 100% tax-deductible. A mailing with options for underwriting is sent home in February.


DONATE ITEMS FOR THE AUCTION. The Live and Online Auctions are always in need of unique items! Do you have a special skill, tickets to a sporting or music event, a vacation home/time share, airline miles, or access to a spa, golf course, or yacht club? Do you have bottles of fine wine you’d be willing to share? Do you know of a business that could donate goods? Some of our hottest ticket items are experiences in private homes – are you willing to open your doors to our families? Contact the Advancement Office at [email protected] with your ideas.
