Gillispie Welcomes Visiting Author David Schwartz

Mark your calendars! On Thursday, January 25 at 6:30-7:30 p.m., author David Schwartz will present a family program called Numbers, Numbers, Everywhere! David will be treating families to delightful storytelling when he talks about the connection between stories and numbers. Children (and parents) will long remember the difference between a million, a billion, and a trillion when the evening is over!

Earlier that day, prekindergarteners through sixth graders will be participating in four separate assemblies David will be interacting with students. His goal is to leave them laughing and learning how math and books go together. The message David wants his audiences to walk away with is—Wondering is Wonderful!

The evening program draws upon, but does not repeat, the assembly programs that the children experienced earlier in the day—they’ll enjoy getting a double dose of the math-science fun introduced during the assemblies.

Some of David’s books are:  How Much Is a Million?, If You Made a Million, G Is for Googol, and If You Hopped Like a Frog. These books will be in Gillispie’s lobby display case during the month of January.
