Gillispie School Launches New Remote Learning Program for Early Childhood Students

For parents electing not to enroll their preschoolers in an on-campus program this year, Gillispie School in La Jolla has launched a new virtual learning program called Gillispie at H.O.M.E. (Hands-On Mindful Exploration.)

Gillispie at H.O.M.E. will provide an interactive community and unique home learning adventure for children ages 2 through Prekindergarten.

The program will offer nine 4-week sessions that can be taken one month at a time or through a subscription plan beginning August 24 and is open for everyone within and outside of the Gillispie community.

Each session will include:

  • 3 hours of investigations and activities a day delivered in an easy-to-use online platform and parent-friendly binder
  • a daily virtual meet-up of 20-30 minutes with a dedicated early childhood educator featuring specialty classes such as movement, music, and yoga
  • optional parent small groups to connect with others in a similar phase of the parenting journey
  • a curated box of developmentally appropriate materials for each session, including expendable supplies and enduring items to enhance learning well beyond the length of the session.

While Gillispie School plans on moving forward with reopening for on-campus preschool through Grade 6 programming in the fall, Gillispie at H.O.M.E. is an elective alternative for families who are not ready to have their children on campus for the coming school year.
