Fight Against Hunger Food Packaging Event

SAVE THE DATE: September 27, 2018

Gillispie School in La Jolla began as a small cottage that served hot meals to the underprivileged children of La Jolla in the lean years of the Great Depression.

Please help us continue our tradition of community service by volunteering to participate in our Fight Against Hunger Food Packaging Event!

In just two hours, we are going to assemble 50,000 meals for impoverished people locally, nationally, and internationally.

All Gillispie friends and families are encouraged to volunteer at this community event! Young children (ages 5-8) are welcome to participate when accompanied by an adult. High school students, come get service hours! Snacks, water, music, and a sense of accomplishment will be provided!

Volunteers may sign up in 1-hour time slots to help assemble food, set-up, lead a team, or clean-up after the event.

DONATIONS: Whether or not you are able to join us, donations to offset the $12,500 cost for the food package ingredients are greatly appreciated. Donate now by clicking the button below, or bring or mail a check to the School. Make checks payable to Gillispie School and write “Food Packaging Event” in the memo line. Thank you for your generosity!
