Recently, Kindergarten students walked to Firestation 13 for a tour and to drop off a gratitude wagon full of goodies they collected for the firefighters. They learned about the different tools on the firetruck and even got to climb through the backseat! They toured the station kitchen, living room, and gym. As we enter fall, it’s starting to get chilly! Kids at Niños con Visión, an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico need our help. When the discussion of names came up in Rosewood room, teachers saw an opportunity to inspire students to reflect on what their names mean. Our Book Buddies program pairs upper elementary students with their younger cohorts for weekly meeting spent reading or playing together around campus. At last week’s assembly, representatives from Friends and Families Community Connection educated the elementary students about the organization and what to expect at the upcoming Fight for Hunger event. The goal? If successful, 50,000 meals would materialize. How?
